LONDON'S CALLING all Knitters...
Join Sally Black for a fun-filled tour of one the world's most exciting cities. Meet other knitters and travel in the company of friends. Our group will depart meet at Newark airport on the evening of Oct 10th by 6pm for our transatlantic flight. We'll fly overnight, sleeping on the plane our first night. When we wake up on the morning of Oct 11, we'll be in London! We'll be met at the airport and taken by shuttle bus to our 4 star hotel. No doubt we'll all be a bit jet-lagged so we'll make this an easy day. Perhaps a stroll and a bit of shopping at the world-famous Harrod's department store or maybe a visit to Kensington Palace, former home of Princess Diana. We'll make it an easy day and an early night so that we can all catch up on our beauty sleep and get ready for our next big day out

On Sunday Oct 16th, we'll enjoy a guided half day tour of London visiting all the "must see" spots like Big Ben, Westminster Abby, The London Eye, St. Paul's, Piccadilly and ending out tour at the Tower of London. Admission is included to the Tower where we'll enjoy a brief walking tour narrated by one of the Queen's guards explaining the Tower's infamous 900 year history. Afterwards we'll enter the vault for a glimpse of the Queen's Jewels!

Sally has built a great deal of free time into this itinerary. One reason is because this year, starting the week of Oct 14th, England celebrates National Knitting Week. Although their website will be updated shortly for 2006, Sally has been in contact with organizers. This week long celebration includes exhibits, fashion shows, Stitch & Bitch nights, even Pub crawls (that's bar hopping in American English). Sally wanted to leave enough time for our group can take in some of these events, shop for yarn, knit with the locals, shop for more yarn and make some life long knitting friends across the pond. As Sally has visited London more times than she can count, she'll be glad to offer insider tips on many other things to see and do and places to visit in the UK in case a few of us get knitting overload....Respectfully this ailment does takes a lot of knitting but it can happen. Also keep this in mind if you have a friend or loved one that may want to enjoy a trip to London but perhaps is not a knitter. No worries...there is plenty to do in London for everyone.
