Ahoy Knitters...
Join famed author and knitting guru Debbie Stoller and hosts from Bonita Knitting Store of San Diego, CA for some Stitch and Beach! Enjoy 4 fabulous days of stitching pleasure sailing aboard the beautiful Carnival Paradise from Long Beach California!
Cruising to Mexico is fun all by itself BUT we'll have lots of fun yarn time planned PLUS...you can knit to your heart's content, take class with Debbie and learn new techniques with the staff from Bonita Knitting Store.
We'll be sailing from Long Beach California on January 15th. If you plan to attend TNNA in San Diego, why not extend your trip for a few days and mix some pleasure with your knit business. If you live outside of Southern California,
you can make your own flight arrangements to Los Angeles or Stitchawaytours would be happy to assist you. You can make it a girl's trip or bring the whole family along. There will be plenty of fun for everyone and let's face it...by the middle of January we'll all need a bit of sun and surf to survive the winter blues.
On board the Carnival Paradise you can enjoy elegant dining, a relaxing spa treatment, nightly entertainment or just kick back by the pool. We'll visit the exciting ports of Catalina Island and Ensenada Mexico with plenty of time for shore activities...all this AND knitting!!!

Our first port of call will be Catalina Island, a natural oasis just off the southern California coast. During our stay in port you'll have time to explore the Island and see the local sights. You may catch a glimpse of migrating whales or choose to take one of the many adventure tours like horseback riding, jeep off road tours and perhaps meet some of Catalina's buffalo! (Yes you can knit Buffalo fur but shearing them can be a problem ;-)

|
We'll continue cruising along the dramatic Baja coastline until we arrive in Ensenada Mexico. Here you can create your own adventures. You may elect to visit one of the fine area restaurants, do some wine tasting at a local vineyard, shop for souvenirs or even explore a hollywood movie studio! Then again, you can stay on board, enjoy some spa treatments or knit by the pool...the choice is entirely up to you.

ON BOARD KNITTING CLASSES...
During our cruise Debbie and the girls from Bonita Knitting will be teaching classes, directing projects and giving you the opportunity to learn new techniques. Class size is limited to provide optimal instruction, so some classes will be offered at multiple times. Everyone will have the opportunity to take all the classes offered. You'll have to register for your classes with Bonita Knitting store so they can order the necessary materials to have ready on board for us when we arrive.

Workshop - Intro to Sweater Design with Debbie Stoller
Design a sweater that FITS! Debbie will teach you how to draft up a dropped shoulder sweater design based on your own measurements. Even if you've never knit a sweater before, you'll leave this class with a pattern for a sweater of your own design. Using a basic, simple sweater style, you'll select necklines, edgings, and fit options. Play with yarns you've brought from home or try out a variety of yarns provided to figure out the best fiber for your sweater. Not only will you leave with a fully executable pattern for a sweater of your own design, but you'll also have an understanding of knitwear patterns like you never did before, so you won't ever be bullied around by them again: change the fit, change the stitch pattern, change the yarn, make it your own!
Crochet for Knitters with Debbie Stoller
Quit stitchin' 'n bitchin' and become a happy hooker! In this session you'll learn the basic crochet stitches and begin working on a simple lace scarf. You'll be amazed how quick and easy crochet is, and will welcome the new possibilities that learning this craft will open up to you, including adding gorgeous edgings to your knitted projects. Materials Kit provided with yarn, hook, and book.
Color Tips & Tricks with Debbie Stoller
Do you fear Fair Isle? Scared of stranding? Intimidated by intarsia? In this class, you'll learn how to carry out these techniques and will begin work on a special knitted project (designed especially for this cruise!) that incorporates each of them. Materials Kit provided with yarn, pattern, and needles.
Finish Already! with Bonita Knitting's Susan Schlesinger
Proper finishing gives your knitted garment the respect it deserves! Learn cast offs, seaming, and other techniques for a professionally finished look.
Deja Vu Evening Bag with Bonita Knitting's Laura Talla
A luscious little evening bag made with beaded silk yarn. A vintage-inspired indulgence! Materials Kit provided with pattern, yarn, needles and purse hinge.
Luxe Cabled Scarf with Bonita Knitting's Kathy Flores
Do cables twist you into knots? Start a lovely scarf and see what the fuss is all about. Materials Kit provided with pattern and yarn.
WHEW!...That's a lot of knitting fun crammed into 4 days! Come join us for a bitchin' good time stitching on the high seas. We're looking forward to having you join us! Hopefully we've answered all of your questions but feel free to contact Sally from Stitchawaytours.com with any TRAVEL related questions and Susan from Bonita Knitting Store can answer
any questions about our KNITTING CLASSES OR EVENTS. Don't procrastinate as this cruise will sell out quickly!
OOOOooEEEE Baby!......Won't you let us take you on our sea cruise!
